BCS Responds
I was so upset about a week ago, upset with all the talk and bull shit that came along with Florida being selected to take on Ohio State in the BCS National Championship game. I am a huge believer in getting rid of the BCS all together. So what did I do about it? I wrote the BCS a letter...and guess what? They responded to me with a well written letter, although Im pretty sure its just a generic that they send to every other asshole who writes in about his/her displeasure over the system. I just thought I would share it with everyone...

Me: This system of greed and computers makes me sick, you at the BCS should all be ashamed of yourselves. I and most all of this great college football loving country are sickened by this system and how it works. Its time for a playoff system, like EVERY OTHER MAJOR SPORT IN THE WORLD! You people don't deserve to be college football fans. These kids would go out and bleed for a chance to play for a national >championship, and instead it is decided by computers. It makes me sick to watch college football now a days, I hope that you can find a way to change this horrible system, and let the players decided the game that they play.

Thank you for getting in touch with your opinion of the BCS. We appreciate your opinion and respect your right to express it.

While no system will ever be viewed as perfect, the BCS has been honed over the years to do the job of pitting the top teams in the top games. It is a system that averages eight polls - with the high and low computer poll thrown out - in order to be as fair as possible.

We feel it's important to rely on the polls and not the opinions of those involved with the BCS.

It is perfectly natural and understandable that fans from rival schools feel their team is the best, and we understand that it's impossible for every fan to be pleased with each poll every week. That's what makes sports rivalries so intense.
