2 Issues With One Stone
So I have been thinking on two things lately so I decided to post on both of the topics and let everyone read them together and tell me what they think.

My first issue is that of the possible bid for Rudy Giuliani to possibly run for President in 2008. At first I didnt know how to feel about this, mainly because he is a Republican. I love and respect Giuliani for how he handled 9/11, what he did, what he said, how he acted in the face of that terrible day. His bid for President excited me at first. However I am going to admit that I know relativly little about politics, and I associate Republicans with Bush and southern policies, so I guess I see myself as a Democrat, or somewhere in between. I guess I just dont know what really separates the two, and what would make a person which. I will vow to do more to know the issues and to know each canidates stands on the issues, so I will make the best choice when I do register to vote, and vote. I do know enough about the current situation to know that Bush is doing a less then par job in dealing with alot of things going on right now, and I am all for ending this war, so Ill try and do a better job.

My second issue is this Bob Knight incident. First off, my opinon. You just dont put your hands on your kids, period. This isnt the 70's anymore, that shit dosent fly. And I dont care how great of a coach you are, you just dont do it. And if this was another coach, No, it wouldnt be getting this much attention. It would get a little, but because of this asshole's reputation and history, I have to watch a highlight reel of him doing this kind of stuff to player after player over the years. He should have been suspended a game. And what is this kid going to say. If he wants to see minutes this season, he will say its no big deal. This guy is a great coach, the numbers speak to that, but I think what he did was wrong, and its bull that people are sticking up for him, its just sad. And I dont feel like watching this poor kid get bitch slapped 50 times on Sportscenter, do you?
Bobby Knight is a freaking embarrassment. People complain about the taunting and carrying on and general lack of sportsmanship from "today's spoiled athletes" but give Knight a free pass on just about everything. He's allowed to physically and mentally abuse 19 year olds, berate officials, throw chairs and generally show disrespect to the game of basketball. And why is that? Because he wins. This is the (inconsistent) lesson we teach. You can be a complete jackass, an utter embarrassment, physically and mentally abuse people just so long as you win - and you went to West Point, not an inner city high school.
