Frontline
Frontline is the best reporting on television and possibly in the world. After watching it the other night I was struck by how aggressively the show, funded by the federal government, went after the Bush administration. This isn't a revelation to me. I just happened to think it through a little more. The thought came arose that maybe we shouldn't be funding something that takes sides on an issue that the different political parties are debating (in this case torture). Even if there is no pattern of bias this government funded entity must often report information that will portray one side of the debate as detrimental to the country (like torture approved by the president).

Our democracy benefits from open, free and well-funded investigative journalism though. A strong press is a public asset. As long as Frontline pounds on the next (hopefully Democratic) administration then I say keep funding PBS.
